Liz Bouta, LVT, MLT(ASCP)cm
As a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT), horse owner, and the founder of Activated Cowgirl & Co., I am deeply passionate about supporting the comfort, movement, and recovery of horses and their riders. My journey blending integrative veterinary medicine, saddle fitting, and scientific research allows me to view equine care through a truly unique, whole-horse lens.
Raised on a farm in Minnesota, I relocated to the rural Bismarck, North Dakota area in 2020. Today, I manage my business from our home outside Bismarck (near Moffit) alongside my AQHA mare, Teaspoon, my retired companion mare, Daisy, my Australian Shepherd, Gus, and a crew of dedicated ranch kitties. Driven by a desire to provide the highest level of care, I am currently pursuing my university-based credential as a Certified Equine Rehabilitation Practitioner (CERP) to bring advanced, science-backed rehabilitation strategies directly to our regional riding community.
After finding life-changing relief and balance for my own animals and myself through integrative therapies like Nrf2 activation and BEMER therapy, I made it my mission to offer these non-conventional, highly effective wellness solutions alongside structural care. Whether I am conducting hands-on saddle fit clinics, analyzing movement, or helping you build a less toxic, more natural lifestyle for your animals, I am here to ensure you can confidently enjoy the riding adventures you love most.

Raised on Diamond L Stables, under the guidance of my father, Clifford Langerud, a renowned saddle maker, my early years were steeped in the art and craft of saddle making and horsemanship. This unique upbringing, paired with my adventures on the professional rodeo cowboy association circuit as a saddle bronc rider and working on ranches across Colorado and Wyoming, gave me a profound appreciation for craftsmanship and practical horse equipment.
Now, as a saddle maker, I specialize in creating wood post-horn saddles designed for working cowboys and cowgirls. This focus reflects not just my deep understanding of the needs within the ranching community but also a commitment to continue a legacy of traditional craftsmanship enriched with real-world hands.
